These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Little Oaks Parent Portal (the "Portal"), operated by Little Oaks Child Care Centre & Montessori ("Little Oaks", "we", "us"). By creating an account or signing in, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Portal — you can still reach us directly using the contact details below.
1. Who can use the Portal
The Portal is provided to parents and legal guardians of children currently enrolled at Little Oaks. Accounts are created by centre staff or through an invitation link; the Portal is not open to general public registration.
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Let us know right away if you believe your account has been compromised. You can sign in with a password, a one-time sign-in code by email, or (where available) your Google or Apple account.
3. Live camera access
Enrolled guardians may be offered access to live streams of the centre's rooms. This access requires separately reading and accepting our camera-access consent terms, available at /camera-terms once signed in, and — where the centre has enabled billing for this service — an active subscription. We may suspend or revoke camera access at any time, including for non-payment, misuse, or operational reasons.
4. Billing and subscriptions
Some services offered through the Portal (such as live camera access or the digital application service) are optional, paid subscriptions billed to the guardian who opts in. Where billing is active:
- Subscribing authorizes a prorated charge for the remainder of the current billing period, followed by recurring charges at the stated rate.
- Invoices are payable online; the associated service is enabled automatically once payment is received.
- You may cancel a subscription at any time; the paid period always runs to its end before access changes.
- Payment processing is handled by our third-party accounting provider under its own terms.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Portal only for its intended purpose — staying informed about your own enrolled child. In particular, you agree not to:
- Share your account, sign-in code, or camera access with anyone else.
- Record, screenshot, redistribute, or publish live camera footage.
- Attempt to access another family's information or another child's records.
- Use the Portal in any way that disrupts its operation or other families' use of it.
6. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if these Terms are violated, if your child's enrollment ends, or as otherwise reasonably necessary to protect the centre, its staff, or other families. You may ask us to close your account at any time by contacting us.
7. Disclaimers
The Portal, including live camera streams, is provided on an "as is" basis. While we take reasonable steps to keep the service reliable and secure, we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation — network, camera, or third-party provider issues can occasionally affect availability.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Little Oaks is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Portal. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Portal after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
